Where is the Massage Therapy Department?

We are located in The Training Center at Southwest Recreation Center on Hull Road.

What should I expect during my first massage therapy visit?

You will be required to complete a brief health history form. This in-take form will help establish what is most important in your session and allow the therapist to provide the best care for you.

Are there different types of Massage Therapy available?

Can I purchase gift certificates?

Yes, we have gift certificates available. Please see our staff in the Training Center for more information.

Is it necessary for the recipient of Massage Therapy services to be a student or RecSports Member?

No, it is not necessary to be a student at the University of Florida nor a Member. The Training Center will sponsor the client, as a guest, and the client will be responsible for a $10 guest fee payable in cash, check, or credit card at the Southwest Recreation Center Membership Office. Do I have the option to choose a Massage Therapist?

We have highly qualified and experienced male and female Massage Therapists on staff. If you have been referred to a specific Massage Therapist, simply ask to be scheduled with them when you are scheduling your appointment.

What if I have an allergy or sensitivity to certain types of massage oils?

The massage oils or lotions used by our Massage Therapists use are natural and/or hypoallergenic. However, if you have sensitivity to certain types of ingredients, please make your therapist aware.

Do I have to get undressed to get a Full-Body Massage?

No, your therapist will instruct you to disrobe to your comfort level, or you could wear comfortable workout attire. You will be covered with a sheet at all times except the area being worked on.

What if I have to cancel/reschedule my appointment?

Due to scheduling concerns we maintain a 24 hour cancellation/reschedule policy. If a client cancels or reschedules within 24 hours of the established appointment, the client will be billed the full price of the Massage Therapy session. For cancellations or rescheduling, please contact the Training Center at (352) 273-2421.
