UF RecSports offers a variety of swim lesson options for individuals of all ages to learn to swim. Youth lessons are offered seasonally, from March – October. Adult lessons are offered year round. All swim lessons are taught by our certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors.
Registration: You may register & pay online or in person at Southwest Recreation Center.
In the event of inclement weather, classes may be cancelled. The first day a class is cancelled, our instructors will review a land based water safety video and curriculum recommended by the American Red Cross. Any additional weather cancellations will schedule a make-up day. Make-up class date & time will be communicated via email.
Location & Parking:
All group lessons take place at Florida Pool, located by Student Recreation and Fitness Center. The closest parking is available in Murphree area or by Stephen C. O’Connell Center. Murphree area parking requires a UF parking decal 24/7. Parking by Stephen C. O’Connell center decal restrictions are lifted in the evenings.
