How to Access RecSports
To access RecSports facilities, all members need to either present their own, valid Gator 1 Card, UF Mobile ID, or download the RecSports App and login with your Gatorlink credentials.
Who can Access RecSports?
The Department of Recreational Sports receives the majority of its funding from Activity and Services (A&S) Fees paid out by students upon enrollment in classes at the University of Florida. Membership rates and access policies are established to protect the interest of fee-paying students. The following groups are eligible to become RecSports members
- Previously Enrolled Students – In a semester immediately following A&S fee payment and enrollment, former students are eligible to purchase a RecSports membership.
- Non-Fee Paying Students – UF students enrolled in off-book, online, distance education, residency, or other University of Florida academic programs which do not require the payment of Activity & Service Fees are eligible to purchase a RecSports membership. Innovation Academy may purchase Non-Fee Paying Student memberships.
- UF Student Spouses/Partners – University of Florida student spouses/partners are eligible to purchase a RecSports membership.
- Faculty, Staff, and their Spouses/Partners – UF faculty, staff, and their spouses/partners are eligible to purchase a RecSports membership.
- University of Florida Affiliates are eligible to purchase a RecSports membership.
- University of Florida Alumni are eligible to purchase a RecSports membership
GUESTS OF RECSPORTS
A non-member or non-fee-paying student must purchase a day pass for access to services and programs including:
- Southwest Recreation Center and Student Recreation & Fitness Center
- Group Fitness Classes
- Participation or spectatorship of indoor programming including indoor Intramural Sports and other special events
- RecSports Day Passes include entry to Lake Wauburg. Lake Wauburg Day Passes can also be purchased separately. More information can be found here
PURCHASING A DAY PASS
- Online: Visit RSConnect to create your account and purchase your guest pass
- In Person: Visit Member Services, located inside the Administrative Offices of the Southwest Recreation Center, during the hours listed below.
GUEST AND SPECTATOR POLICIES
Day Pass Policies
- Persons wishing to be a guest must purchase a Recreational Sports day pass for $15, which gives access to all recreational facilities for one day.
- Guests must present a government issued picture identification and be sponsored and accompanied by a fee paying student or a member of the recreation and fitness centers.
- Faculty, staff and affiliates of the University of Florida may purchase a day pass and are not required to have an accompanying sponsor.
- Day passes are available for access to the following facilities: Southwest Recreation Center, Student Recreation and Fitness Center, Florida Pool and the O’Connell Center Pool only. (Note: Access to some programs & services are not included in day pass privileges)
- Day passes are not eligible for refunds.
- Guests must be at least 18 years old.
- Sponsors are responsible for the conduct and actions of their guests.
- Faculty, Staff, and Spouses/Partners of Students/Faculty/Staff wishing to participate in Sport Clubs and Intramural Sports in the recreation and fitness centers may utilize a day pass for access to the facility. Non-UF Community are not eligible for intramural sports.
- Guests who do not have a valid GatorOne are not eligible to check out equipment, reserve courts, participate in personal training/small group training, Group Fitness classes, Intramural Sports, and/or Sport Clubs.
- Individuals seeking access to RecSports may not solicit members to sponsor them as a guest.
- False identification will be confiscated. The original owner, as well as the person attempting to use the card, will be suspended from all facilities pending a meeting with a RecSports Administrator. RecSports reserves the right to turn over any confiscated identification to University ID Card Services and/or Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution.
- RecSports management reserves the right to refuse access to any guest.
Spectator Pass
- Persons wishing to spectate Intramural Sports events must have a current UF student or RecSports member register for a spectator pass.
- The single use Spectator Pass Wristband will be required for the spectator to enter the facility. The sponsor will need to accompany the spectator, and spectator must wear the wristband while in the facility.
- The Spectator Pass Wristband allows for spectating of intramural events only, not open recreation.
- If a child under 18 is spectating, the parent or legal guardian must be with them at all times. The wristband must be returned at the conclusion of the event and removed by RecSports staff at the front desk to prevent a $15 charge being issued to the sponsors’ student account. All parties, including the sponsor and spectator, acknowledge the above information by signing the spectator pass agreement upon entering the facility.
Florida Pool, O'Connell Pool, Graham Pool
*To ensure equity amongst non-student users and fee-paying students, a RecSports Membership will be required to access O’Connell Center Pool, Florida Pool, and Graham Pool starting July 1, 2024.
- All guests much purchase a $15 all-facilities guest pass for access and be sponsored by an eligible student, faculty, staff, or spouse/partner with a valid Gator 1 Card.
- Guests must be at least 18 years old to enter the Florida Pool and the O’Connell Center Pool.
- Guests must sign in the pool Guest Book and present a government issued identification card.
- Sponsors must accompany guests at all times and are responsible for their conduct and actions.
- Guests cannot participate in Sport Clubs practices at the Florida Pool and O’Connell Center Pool.
- Individuals seeking admittance to the pools may not solicit members to sponsor them as a guest.
Center for Outdoor Recreation & Education (CORE)
Eligibility
- To access CORE services, University of Florida community members must present their valid Gator 1 Card.
- RecSports reserves the right to refuse access to any participant.
- All guest must be sponsored and accompanied by a valid Gator 1 Card holder
- Each Gator 1 Card holder may register 1 guest per trip.
- Sponsors are responsible for the conduct and actions of their guests.
- Guests must be at least 18 years old unless otherwise indicated.
- Individuals seeking access to CORE services may not solicit members to sponsor them as a guest.
Lake Wauburg
*Starting July 1, 2024, only current students, faculty, and staff can enter Lake Wauburg at no cost. Other UF Community and guests will be required to purchase a day pass. In addition, to ensure equity amongst our students and non-students, RecSports will be establishing boating rental pricing.
Entry Eligibility
- Students, Faculty/Staff & RecSports Members enter Lake Wauburg free of charge, with a valid GatorOne ID
- Alumni, Affiliates & Guests will be assessed a charge to enter Lake Wauburg. Click here for more information on rates (link to Stef’s webpage)
- Field equipment rental is included with entry.
- Any number of guests are welcome, when sponsored by a GatorOne ID Holder.
- Sponsors are responsible for the conduct and actions of their guests, including any equipment/property damage.
- Individuals seeking access to Lake Wauburg may not solicit Students, Faculty/Staff, Alumni, or Affiliates to sponsor them as guests.
- Each person must sign a waiver to enter Lake Wauburg, including all guests and guardians of minors.
Boating Eligibility
- Fee-paying Students & RecSports Members have access to one boat at a time free of charge, with a valid GatorOne
- Non-fee-paying Students, Faculty/Staff, Alumni, Affiliates & Guests will be assessed a charge for boat rentals. Click here for more information on rates (link to Stef’s webpage)
