Changes at UF RecSports

CHANGES stands for: create habits, adopt new growth, and enhance self. These pillars guide the program by emphasizing holistic wellness, which cultivates a sustainable, healthy lifestyle. CHANGES focuses on building community, empowerment, cardiorespiratory fitness, and performance-based training; all of which has been proven to increase physical activity adherence and decrease symptoms of metabolic syndrome.

What to Expect

CHANGES is recommended for individuals who are new or returning to physical activity. The program includes:

  • 10-week course hosted each semester
  • Connection to a cohort of up to 20 Gators
  • Two 60-minute physical movement sessions/week, coached by certified fitness professionals
    • Includes sample group fitness classes
  • Facility tours and orientations
  • Goal-setting workshop with GatorWell
  • Nutrition workshops with a Registered Dietitian
  • Cooking demonstration with an Executive Chef
