Welcome to Florida Pool
Located outside of Student Recreation and Fitness Center this 8 lane, 50-yard outdoor facility ranges in depth from 4.5 feet (1.4 meters) to 12.5 feet (3.8 meters) and is heated to 84 degrees during the winter months. Restrooms with a shower are available on the pool deck; there are no locker room facilities.
The pool is also accessible by an aquatic lift to assist swimmers with disabilities.
Access
- Patrons must present a valid student, faculty, staff or spouse/partner Gator 1 Card to enter the pools.
- Hours are subject to change for holidays, breaks when school is not in session, Gator football home games, maintenance, etc.
- Pool will close if the air temperature including wind chill drops, or is predicted to drop, below 45°F.

These policies were created and approved by the Board of Directors, RecSports administration and Student Affairs at the University of Florida.Over 90% of our department’s budget is funded by Student Government through A&S fees paid by current students. Certain services, such as Personal Training, Massage Therapy, Nutrition Services, Outdoor Trips, and the UF Outdoor Team Challenge Courses, are auxiliary services in which fees are charged to all participants, including students.
These policies protect the interests of fee-paying students. UF students, staff and faculty are members of the RecSports Board of Directors that approve these policies. Click below to view our policies.
- Swimming permitted only when lifeguard is on duty.
- Individuals must shower before entering pool.
- Proper swimming attire must be worn at all times. View Proper Swim Attire
- No long distance underwater swimming, hypoxic training, or extended breath holding allowed.
- No use of scuba equipment (oxygen tanks, weight belts, long fins, etc.….) without the supervision of UF Scuba Instructor staff.
- No rough play or hanging on lane lines is allowed.
- Animals, with the exception of service animals, are not allowed in the pool areas. No animals are permitted in the pool at any time.
- No glass allowed in the pool or pool areas.
- No food allowed in or near pool.
- In accordance with the University’s Tobacco-Free policy, the use of any tobacco products is prohibited.
- Do not swallow the pool water.
- Diving allowed in water of 9’ depth or greater only.
- Bicycles and scooters are not allowed within the pool areas or entryway
- Individuals with open wounds, infectious, or communicable diseases may not swim.
- Individuals under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs are not allowed in the pool areas.
- Disorderly conduct, abuse of the facility, equipment, or staff and/or disregard for Recreational Sports policies will result in immediate dismissal from the facility. Additional sanctions may include: disciplinary action, reimbursement for damages, and/or potential suspension from the facilities and programs.
- An individual asked to leave by RecSports staff will not be refunded any paid charges.
- Pictures of the pool and pool area may not be taken without prior approval from the Public Relations Information Request Form.
