Hello Friends,
The Department of Recreational Sports fosters holistic health and well-being for all students. Your gift supports excellent facilities, programs, and opportunities for fitness, sport, and adventure. It helps students overcome challenges like weight management and body image, reduces financial barriers for adventure trips, and ensures resources are directed where they’re most needed.
We deeply appreciate the generosity of our staff, alumni, and friends. Your contributions enhance our services, improve programs and facilities, and provide grants to students. Together, we can inspire lifelong well-being in the Gator Nation.
UF RecSports Foundation Fund
An unrestricted fund that allows the Department to allocate resources where they are most immediately needed. Examples of this include expanding program offerings to serve a greater number of students, supplementing student fees to reduce financial barriers to participation, and supporting facility and capital improvement projects.
Adventure Trips Grant (Formerly CORE Grant)
The RecSports Adventure Trips Grant provides $200 per student to participate in an adventure trip and up to $500 to train to become adventure trip leaders through the Outdoor Leadership Course. This fund aspires to eliminate financial barriers for students who wish to participate in an impactful trip experience. Learn more here.
CHANGES
The “Create Habits, Adopt New Growth, and Enhance Self” Program recognizes that students face challenges to wellness in a variety of ways and aims to help those who may struggle with positive behavior change, weight management, body image, and/or self-esteem surrounding physical activity or movement to a degree that causes significant distress. Learn more here.
James A. Bryan ||| Student Development Grant
Through a generous endowment established James A. Bryan III, Intramural Sports alumnus, RecSports has been able to grant professional development opportunities to our student staff. Learn more here.
Why Give to RecSports?
Partner with the University of Florida and the Department of Recreational Sports as we promote holistic health and well-being to the UF students and UF Community. The gifts you give will be used to enhance the services we provide for the Gator Nation: such as expanding program offerings to serve a greater number of students and/or students in need, supplementing student fees to reduce financial barriers to participation, and supporting facility and capital improvement projects. Every gift will help us move the Gator Nation to engage in lifelong wellbeing.
