The American Red Cross Blended Learning Lifeguarding course is designed to teach lifeguard skills in a dual learning format, through eLearning activities and in-person sessions. Participants will gain the knowledge to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services take over. This course is designed for individuals who want to pursue a job as a certified lifeguard. Certification is current for 2 years and includes Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED.
The course includes an online portion and instructor-led classroom skills sessions. The link to access the online session will be provided up to 1 week prior to the course date. The online course takes approximately 7 hours to complete.
Participants must attend all class dates & pass prerequisite swimming skills evaluation
