Join Florida Alternative Break (FAB) and Florida Trail Association (FTA) in performing trail maintenance on the unique Florida National Scenic Trail, also known as the Florida Trail. Volunteers and FTA staff will reopen and maintain the rugged Swamp Hammock section of this lovely trail within St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. UF Florida Alternative Breaks adopted this ~2.5 mile section in 2018. St. Marks NWR is one of the oldest wildlife refuges in the country and is renowned for its abundance of beautiful flora and fauna. The Florida Trail crosses the entirety of St. Marks NWR, providing the only backpacking experience in America within a National Wildlife Refuge.

REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

• Group camping equipment (tents etc.)
• All meals (usually vegetarian)
• TRANSPORTATION
• Experienced Guides

REGISTRATION DOES NOT INCLUDE:

AMENITIES:

• Backcountry camping
• No electricity
• No running water
• No flushing toilets
• No showers

CHALLENGE LEVEL = LOW

This trip includes hiking with little elevation change and requires a minimum level of physical exertion. All CORE trips include instruction on basic backpacking skills.

REFUND POLICY:

1. Trips can not be transferred.
2. Trip refunds will be granted only if:
   1. Trip is cancelled by CORE.
   2. A paid replacement has been found.
   3. A $10 base processing charge or 15% of the registration price, whichever is greater, will be assessed.
3. Replacement requests must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled service offering start date.
4. Participant has documented medical circumstances preventing participation.
