Onboarding

Welcome To The Team!

Launch Meetings

Launch Meetings are required for all new RecSports employees at the point of hire. During a Launch Meeting, new employees complete all necessary hiring paperwork and are provided with an overview of the Department of RecSports. New employees are able to meet other incoming teammates, learn the mission, impact, and structure of RecSports, as well as understand the expectations and value of their role in the department.

Uniforms

Uniforms are issued by RecSports Unit Professional Staff Members during Unit-Specific Onboarding. Uniforms typically include a polo or dri-fit shirt as well as a nametag. Many positions in the department require khaki pants or shorts, and Personal Trainers and Intramural Officials require black shorts or pants. Please remember that you are required to return your rented items upon completion of your RecSports experience. A hold will be placed on your student account and you will be charged the price for uniform replacement for any item damaged beyond normal wear and tear, or not returned. Uniform Guidelines

Employee Communication

Department-wide email announcements are shared with all RecSports Student Staff from the RSStudentEmployment@ufsa.ufl.edu email address. Units may utilize Microsoft Teams as well as emails to best communicate with employees; therefore, please be aware of and comply with the communication expectations of your unit.

In addition to our primary communication platforms, we also show our personality and share some humor on the RecSports Student Staff Instagram @RSStudentStaff, so slide on over and check it out!

Obtaining Certifications

To ensure a safe environment for our participants, we require many employees to be certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid. For required positions, this certification must be completed within the first 30 days of employment. Reference the Rookie's Edition Checklist for specific certification requirements for your position. We offer certification classes at a discounted rate of $45 for all RecSports student employees. Visit RSConnect to learn more and to register.

PAY INFORMATION

You will be paid for your time every two weeks. To learn more about the pay process and how to access your paycheck, reference your Rookie's Edition Checklist or visit the Pay Information Page for further details.
