Explore enchanting landscapes and conquer challenging terrain on our 8-day Icelandic adventure! Discover the intersection of volcanoes and glaciers through a mix of backpacking, hiking, and exploration. You will immerse yourselves in the heart of Iceland. The trip includes 8 days of meals and 7 nights of lodging!

Embark from Reykjavik, where your adventure begins with a stay at a cozy local hostel. We’ll first explore by car the wonders of the Golden Circle, known for its geysers, majestic waterfalls, and the meeting point of North American and European tectonic plates. We’ll spend the evening gearing up for the epic trek ahead.

We’ll board a bus to the Landmannalaugar trailhead, where we will start our trek on the Laugavegur Trail. Most of our luggage will be shuttled to the next campsite, but we will carry a maximum of around 15lbs. Although our bags our light, the highlands trail is still quite strenuous and our first day will be a long one as we trek 14 miles to our first campsite. Prepare yourself for amazing, otherworldly vistas and lush green valleys – this trail is one of the best in the world!

After backpacking the trail, we will have a day to explore the city and partake in a Puffin and Whale watching excursion (optional upcharge). We’ll spend these last nights together in a hostel in the heart of the city.

While on this trip, you will assist your leaders with daily group tasks such as setting up camp, cooking, and cleaning. We will travel on and off trail as a group and you will learn a good amount of camping and backpacking skills on this trip. Expect moderate to intense physical activity and dynamic weather, including strong winds. Although it’s summer, be ready for cool and rainy conditions. A detailed packing list will be provided prior to the trip. We highly recommend you physically condition for this trip and come mentally prepared for long days.
