Challenge yourself while living out of a backpack and summiting Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak East of the Mississippi River, on 9/22-9/24!  Keep in mind, this is our most physically challenging hike on the trip schedule.   Don’t let that stop you; a little teamwork goes a long way. We have plenty of other options if you are looking for something less challenging though. We will depart early Friday morning and will return late Sunday night.

REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

• Group camping equipment (tents etc.)
• All meals (usually vegetarian)

REGISTRATION DOES NOT INCLUDE:

• Personal gear (i.e. sleeping bag, backpack, sleeping pad, headlamp). Feel free to rent outdoor gear from us! Participants get 10% off for their TRiP. More info here.

CHALLENGE LEVEL = HIGH

This trip includes hiking with a heavy backpack over mountainous terrain with significant elevation gains and losses. However, anyone who is physically active can do this hike—it is an awesome challenge! All CORE trips include instruction on basic backpacking skills, but expect to be challenged physically on this trip. REFUND POLICY:

1. Trips can not be transferred.
2. Trip refunds will be granted only if:
   1. Trip is cancelled by CORE.
   2. A paid replacement has been found.
   3. A $10 base processing charge or 15% of the registration price, whichever is greater, will be assessed.
3. Replacement requests must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled service offering start date.
4. Participant has documented medical circumstances preventing participation.
