Join Florida Alternative Break (FAB) and enjoy several days of kayaking through Florida’s 1.5-million-acre wetlands preserve, the Everglades, on January 3rd-7th! Instead of swampy grasslands, we’ll be exploring the Gulf-side islands and camping on beaches as we hop from key to key. As a part of this TRiP, you will give back to the outdoors by performing trail maintenance in the Everglades National Park. Expect to see plenty of dolphins, egrets, herons, and maybe even some manatees and sea turtles.

AMENITIES:
CHALLENGE LEVEL = MEDIUM-HIGH DIFFICULTY
This trip includes several miles of sea kayaking every day. Some basic paddling skills are recommended—we will also offer workshops to practice skills prior to the trip. Additionally, all CORE trips include instruction on basic paddling skills, but expect to be challenged physically on this trip.
DAILY ROUTINE:
Expect to learn sea kayaking and camping skills on this trip! As a group, we’ll all be responsible for helping with cooking, setting up tents, and even learn to use a chart and compass. Trip leaders will keep you safe and manage risk, but you’ll learn a lot about your own abilities and gain confidence in outdoor skills.
