The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach the American Red Cross Lifeguarding courses by developing their understanding of how to use the course materials, how to conduct training sessions and how to evaluate participants’ progress. This course is designed for individuals who want to pursue a job as a lifeguarding instructor. Certification is current for 2 years from the completion date.
The course includes an online portion and instructor-led classroom skills sessions. The link to access the online session will be provided up to 1 week prior to the course date. The online course takes approximately 2 hours, 30 minutes to complete.
Participants MUST attend all class dates and successfully pass a Pre-Course water skills session and written test.
Prerequisites:
Be at least 17 years of age on or before the final scheduled lesson of this course.
Possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certificate.
Successfully complete the Online Session for the Lifeguarding Instructor course.
Successfully complete the Pre-course Skills Session
