Talent Management Associate

The Talent Management Team provides an internal service to our student employees and professional staff members. Student employees are at the heart of our focus and we directly impact the employee experience in some capacity from start to finish. Talent Management's projects and initiatives include components related to hiring and recruitment, onboarding, training, development, recognition and belonging, and offboarding.

Area Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation hiring and recruitment campaigns
  • Provide administrative support and assist in facilitation of onboarding meetings
  • Assist with managing onboarding, inboarding, and offboarding resources for RecSports Student Staff
  • Provide employee access to online platforms utilized by RecSports Student Staff
  • Assist with managing the RecSports uniform inventory
  • Assist in developing and coordinating professional and personal development programs/services for RecSports Student Staff
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of Staff Appreciation Week and staff recognition initiatives throughout the semester
  • Assist in the planning of large-scale staff appreciation events each semester
  • Serve as an active contributor to the RecSports Student Leadership Council

RecSports Team Member Responsibilities

  • Develop professional relationships with co-workers, participants, and guests
  • Uphold and exceed the expectations of the cornerstones of RecSports service: Accountability, Anticipating needs, Attitude, and Atmosphere
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and apply knowledge as a RecSports ambassador
  • Take ownership of RecSports facilities and programs by exhibiting a responsible work ethic
  • Promote and maintain cleanliness and appearance within and around RecSports facilities
  • Enforce RecSports policies and procedures to promote participant safety and satisfaction
  • Respond to all emergency situations and adhere to established protocol including pre- and post- incident procedures
  • All RecSports employees are expected to abide by the RecSports Code of Conduct process that clarifies shared expectations and standards in effort to best serve our patrons, develop each team member, and prepare student employees for future career endeavors


  • Current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid or willing to obtain within first 30 days of employment
  • Commit to approximately 9-12 hours/week
  • Successful completion of Department training requirements once hired
  • Complete and maintain UF online certifications applicable to position


Timeline for Fall Start Date:

  • Interviews in July
  • Department-Wide Onboarding in late July
  • Program Area Trainings in mid-August

Timeline for Spring Start Date:

  • Interviews in November
  • Department-Wide Onboarding in early December
  • Program Area Trainings in mid-December or early January

Timeline for Summer A Start Date:

  • Interviews in March
  • Department-Wide Onboarding in April
  • Program Area Trainings in late April or early May

Timeline for Summer B Start Date:

  • Interviews in late May or early June
  • Department-Wide Onboarding in mid-June
  • Program Area Trainings in late June
